Chemical name (INCI):
Spirulina Platensis Extract
Spirulina (Spirulina platesnis) extract contains 60% vegetable proteins, plus fatty acids, nucleic acids (RNR and DNR), B group vitamins and vitamins C and E. The extract also contains carotenoids, chlorophyll and phycocyanin (a protein that can stop the reproduction of cancerous cells).
The large amounts of proteins and amino acids found in spirulina stimulate the production of endogenous collagen and other materials that are important for the moisturisation and health of skin. Spirulina neutralizes the effects of free radicals and protects the cells from negative environmental effects. The hydrophilic elements of spirulina create a specific complex, which protects the natural microflora of the skin.
